We're Thrilled You're Curious About Us

Welcome to
Embers + Apothecary

Our story is rooted in a love for unconventional experiences and a belief that Chicago needs more third spaces—welcoming inclusive spots away from work and home where people can gather, date, laugh, host a party, and build community.

Located in the historic Printers Row neighborhood, we’re proud to be a Woman and Black-owned business. We host daily classes and private events centered around unique candle-making experiences in two parts. The first part includes scent exploration and diving into the art of candle making, while the second part invites you to engage in a fun activity with those around you—be it trivia, games, a karaoke or perhaps something else.

Whether you're a local, visiting Chicago, a candle enthusiast, or just seeking something a little different, our experiences are crafted with you in mind. Join us for a daily class or consider hosting a private event. We can't wait to welcome you and co-create a one-of-a-kind Chicago experience together.

Hi, I’m Leah.

I’m the founder of Embers + Apothecary, a candle-making studio built around the belief that shared creative experiences make it easier to spark joy, start conversations, and feel connected.

Before opening the studio, I spent nearly two decades as a management consultant and marketing strategist, helping brands and teams understand people, build better experiences, and bring ideas to life. Embers + Apothecary is a more personal expression of that work, shaped through scent, storytelling, gathering, and play.

I created this space because I love bringing people together. Whether you’re here for a daily class, a date night, a private celebration, or a corporate experience, my hope is that you feel welcomed, cared for, and just a little more connected than when you walked in.

Since opening in Spring 2024, the studio has grown into something bigger than I imagined: a creative home in Printers Row where people make candles, mark milestones, laugh over games, and leave with something that feels uniquely theirs.

Thank you for being part of the story. I can’t wait to welcome you in.
