## The Neighborhood
Embers + Apothecary is located in Printers Row, one of Chicago's most historically significant neighborhoods — named for the printing press buildings that lined these streets in the 1800s when this was the printing hub of America.

Our studio is housed in the historic Franklin Building, part of a landmark block that also includes the Donahue Publishing Building and the Transportation Building. At the end of the block sits Dearborn Station — the terminus of the old rail line and one of Chicago's most iconic historic structures. These buildings were among the first industrial and manufacturing buildings in the city to be converted into condos and mixed-use spaces, pioneering urban revitalization in Chicago.

Today the block is home to a walkable collection of boutique, independently owned small businesses, many of them women-owned — an independent bookstore, specialty coffee shop, consignment boutique, wine bar, and restaurants. It draws both Chicago locals and tourists looking for an authentic experience that feels like the real Chicago, steps from the Loop but with a completely different energy.

## What Sets Embers + Apothecary Apart
